Bethesda's forthcoming first round of downloadable content for Fallout 3, due to hit the Xbox Live Marketplace and PC next January, will be called Operation Anchorage, according to an interview with Fallout 3 lead producer, Jeff Gardiner, and should offer at least another five hours of game time.
"In Operation: Anchorage the player will find themselves able to re-live the famous liberation of Anchorage from Fallout lore -- inside a simulation similar to one found along the main quest of Fallout 3. Once the player finds their way into the simulation, they'll be stripped of their resources and have to survive within the rules set up by the simulation's creators," he told the site.

"The Chinese red army is everywhere, and the player will first have to secure the surrounding mountain side and then fight their way into the Chinese base. The player will have to use a lot of their standard combat skills, along with several new tools that will only be available in the downloadable content. These include interactive Strike Teams under the player's command and unique armor, weapons, and other exotic gadgets."
You can check out the full interview over at IGN, where a few nuggets of information were also revealed about other DLC packages a bit further down the track.

That sounds different. I will definitely be checking out. Although the original sim in Fallout 3 was VERY annoying.

That's how it was for Bring down the Sky for Mass Effect. Start a new game or use a recent save. You got charged for that too over XBL, despite it being free on PC.

I thought the original sim was awesome. It didn't really take that long but was so different and weird. Reminded me of the trip sequences from Max Payne where you lose control as you're used to it.

i can only see more FO3 content as a good addition to an already great game, hearing that any studio is backing more time and effort for a release instead of leaving it behind and moving straight onto the next one makes me happy in my pants...
