In typical AusGamers fashion, we've put together a massively in-depth preview for Nintendo's forthcoming party fighter, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The game was announced this week to be releasing locally on June 26 and in anticipation (and celebration) of that we've put together a comprehensive list of reasons you need to start getting excited about one of the deepest titles to ever grace a console.

Countless unlockables, play modes and an all-new online feature make this the best the series has ever been and a game no self-respecting Wii owner should be without. Click here for our full preview, or head over to our Super Smash Bros. Brawl game page for more info, screens and vids.

I tried the gamecube version, just to see what all the fuss was about.
I really don't 'get' this game.
Not knocking the people that do.... it's just not for me :)

You forgot his Mailbag Showdown in response to all the negative emails he got for the review.

Classic stuff.

Yahtzee wasn't impressed. I love Yahtzee.

I love Yahtzee too, but I think that it's not so much that this particular game was s***, more that it's just not the kind of game he enjoys. I think it's safe to say that if you've liked previous Smash Bros. games, this one will be right up your alley. I'll definitely getting this game.

It's a game. You either enjoy playing it or you don't. It's not like trying to understand some complex calculus or enzyme kinetics, there's nothing to get.

It's ok to say you just didn't enjoy the game.

PS get it.

Yeah, I went through all the trouble of getting a Freeloader and importing this, and after 4 or 5 hours play, realised I didn't really like it very much and haven't touched it since :(

It is a decent game, nothing to explode about. The variety of characters is awesome, heaps of fun with three friends on a couch. Online is laggy (and I have good interwebs) and the lack of social interaction sort of kills the buzz. (Step up your game, Nintendo). If you're looking for some senseless fun, not too bad, but this is not the killer app you're looking for.

Reasons to be PUMPED AS HELL about SSBB:

-Make your favourite nintendo characters that you've seen a thousand times and some never-been-seen-in-the-west characters that were even obscure in japan duke it out! Peach has pretty panties. Take screenshots of her kissing Samus!
-BRAND NEW ONLINE PLAY. Forget about chatting to your friends, forget about a real matchmaking service, look forward to long wait times and occassional in-game desyncs! Enter a 20 digit code to play a round with your neighbor!
-A revamped fighting system that has just enough unintentional depth that the skill gap between you and your friends who haven't played it will be frustratingly large in a fashion completely non-typical for Nintendo. If they were willing to sit around playing a children's game with you to begin with they'll soon excuse themselves as you slide-cancel your way to victory.
-It's just like the game you probably already played it on the gamecube... but wait, this game has Snake. Metal Gear Solid 4: Sons of the Patriots coming exclusively to a PS3 near you.

Just got mine yesterday. Me and 5 others played it all afternoon. Best fun we have had with any mutiplayer game yet. Smash bros is probably the game I have invested the second longest time playing (after wow). Loving metaknight, Diddy and Dedede. Need a friend to try out online, cause random match ups will be all +400ms americans.
