GTA4

A few weeks ago we posted a Hands-Off report from a controlled demo of Grand Theft Auto IV. As the release date for the game draws closer though, Rockstar Australia decided to give AusGamers some serious Hands-On time with the game, the resulting gush of words from which can be found by clicking here.

Suffice to say, so far the wait has been more than worth it, and considering we're still playing older code, the final product should definitely be something special. You can check out our accrued GTA IV media by hitting this link, but it's also worth noting Rockstar North are also consistently updating the game's Official Site where you can find artwork, videos, screens and plenty of tongue-in-cheek propaganda surrounding the game.

It's become the cool new fad to release games on PC months after the console debut, safe to that say any time a developer does this, I won't even consider getting the game through legal channels. Although, seeing what a POS Assassin's Creed turned out to be, I'm quite glad I didn't get a chance to buy it upon launch.

half-assed ports long after the release buzz has died. poor sales on PC must be all that damn piracy.

Most games are built from console hardware now, I don't know why you wouldn't want the best version of the game. BioShock was a great example. It was good on PC, but better on console IMO because Irrational designed it from 360 hardware...

Yep, thats the best way to encourage more developers to make PC versions of their games, pirate it when it comes out and refuse to buy it.

Why should I pay the same amount for a product when I've had to wait 3 or 4 months more than everyone else? I realise that piracy will encourage less games to be made, but maybe they should realise that releasing a half-arsed port 4 months after release will encourage piracy.

I've owned consoles my whole life AND PCs - can't we all just get ALONG?

Honestly, playing games that look as good on 360 as they do on PC without all the hassles of patches, hardware upgrades and the like, all from the comfort of my living room couch in front of my huge plasma makes the controller vs mouse and keyboard battle worth it. I'll happily play with a controller over a mouse and keyboard to be comfortable and get the best viewing and immersive experience out of the game... I still love my PC though, just also love my 360 (Achievements and GamerScores ftw)

how is a plasma, couch and 360 obsolete?
