We told you we'd let you know the actual Aussie release date for one of the year's most anticipated titles, and well... here we are, telling you. At any rate, Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed has, in fact, gone gold.
Ubisoft announce its highly anticipated Assassin's Creed video game has gone "gold" and is set to launch in EMEA on November 15, 2007. The title is one of the most anticipated games for the holiday season, arriving on the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

"We've been working very hard for nearly four years to make Assassin's Creed a reality and now there is a confirmed date when players will get to experience the results of our efforts," shared Jade Raymond, producer of Assassin's Creed. "This is a huge event for the team. Our biggest reward will be everyone having a lot of good solid fun."

Gawd, I'm so sick of this delayed crap for PCs... Especially a release like this, when any delay could result in the mystery in the game being ruined. I dunno wtf they were thinking.

Did you read the article? It's a completely different concept. The only similarity is the acrobatics

It was never on PC from the start, when it was very first announced it was a PS3 'exclusive' and then became PS3 and XBox 360, never did PC enter into the equation. It was never shown running on a PC, it was never publicised as being available for the PC, there was not even any stray comments or rumours floating around that it would come out on PC at the same time as consoles. So I'm not quite sure why your nose is out of joint, its not like they're sprung this on you at the last second.

And its really not any easier to develop for PC, with a console at least you know the hardware, you know what the limitations are, and you can work within that. With a PC you're trying to hit a moving target, in amongst a sea of a thousand other moving targets.

If you're too closed minded to appreciate console gaming, then thats your loss, but its hardly a case for Ubisoft being c****. Trying to say they're rushing this out for Christmas is just insane, its been in production for 4+ years, how can taking 4 years to make a game possibly be construed as rushing it.

But really, come November 15th I wont care, cos I'll be picking up my copy of Assassin's Creed and rushing home to post spoilers on QGL just for you.

Lol, you're taking this so personally, huh?

It WAS always slated for PC release, or atleast for the last 2 years, because I wouldn't have taken notice otherwise. I dunno where you got this closed minded to consoles crap from, I like the Xbox 360 (PS3 is obviously junk, but everyone knows that) and I would gladly own one if I could afford it and as for the rushing it out for christmas stuff, it was slated for release in early 2008 (The same as the PC version), I guess they figured out they'd sell more this way.

Going up against some of the other big games coming out this holiday season, they probably would have been better off releasing it early next year. That, in itself, is point enough to know they haven't rushed it out. Most times publishers give release dates (especially for projects more than two years in development) much further wishful dates than what the dev has actually said/been told. At any rate, I definitely think it's being released this month purely because it's ready - Ubisoft isn't EA and most of their titles are internal, original IP, so there'd be no point finishing up something with this much hype that was in development for 4+ years without the level of polish it so surely deserves. What I've seen looks great, so I'm with it's ready so it's coming out.

Yeah, sorry, I over-reacted a bit, had a really s***** day and I thought this was heading towards being another PC vs Consoles thread so I fired up :P

Haha, that's okay. I'm a hater of post-repetition aswell.
I really never heard anything about it ever being for PC though, first I heard of it was E3 a few years ago when it was a PS3 exclusive. Had a quick look on Gamespot but their Assassin's Creed news doesn't really go back and furthur than late 2005, and no mention of PC there either, so I dunno what happened before that. But I know that at least since then, its been console only. And the mid-november date has been unofficial for a few months now at least, cos I pre-ordered mine a couple of months ago and while there was no set date for it, mid november was the 'vibe' going around at the time. Guess it'll be obvious once we get our hands on it whether it was rushed out the door ot not.

Alot of the official trailers have had "For PS3, Xbox 360 and PC" things at the start or end, which was evidence enough for me. I honestly think it will be quite a polished product, whether it was rushed or not, Ubisoft are pretty good with optimizing stuff (except for Morrowind, but hey, that was a huge project).

I'm just sore that we get it after everyone else. I researched a bit and found out that they only announced that it was going to get delayed about a month ago -

Continuing the slew of delayed games news, Ubisoft announced a delay to the PC version of Assassin's Creed. Originally planned for release this fall alongside its PS3 and Xbox 360 counterparts, the PC version will now be released in early 2008. While no reasons were given for the delay, this is surely a bummer for PC fans

kamma sounds like a whingy b****.

Groganus sounds like an under-educated retard with nothing better to do than pick fights, or maybe his daddy touched him when he was little and now he feels he has something to prove to the world by acting angry in internet forums. =)
