Kotaku are reporting - apparently in all seriousness - that a class action suit is being
filed against Nintendo because of Wii-related damage caused by broken wrist straps:
Owners of the Nintendo Wii reported that when they used the Nintendo remote and wrist strap, as instructed by the material that accompanied the Wii console, the wrist strap broke and caused the remote to leave the user's hand. Nintendo's failure to include a remote that is free from defects is in breach of Nintendo's own product warranty.
There are of course a million jokes that can be made about the forearm development of the average gamer, especially as it relates to gripping objects. That hilarity aside, short of the strap snapping and the resulting explosive force actually being sufficient to sever the hand from the wrist, it seems a little bit weird to not wonder why these people don't just, like, hold on to the controller while they're flailing their arms wildly.
